In 2024 St Paul’s Church, Quarndon, will celebrate its 150th anniversary, which we hope to celebrate in style with the parish.
Unfortunately, it is currently in desperate need of Repair, Renovation and Redecoration. Most immediately the cast iron guttering needs replacing as it is leaking, putting the structure of the building at serious risk, and water ingress is causing internal damage. You can see more about why this is happening in our video. We also show other issues for future restoration work on our gallery page.
As the church is a listed building, we are restricted as to the materials we can use.
In short, we have an immediate need to raise £57,000.00 to carry out the essential work and, whilst grants may be available, they will only cover a part of the cost..
Our aim is to start the work as soon as possible to ensure it is completed by the end of 2023.
So, we are launching our fundraising appeal, ‘St Paul’s Appeal 150’. If you are an experienced fundraiser or would like to help, you are most welcome to join the team. .
Please get in touchIf you can make a donation, this can be mailed to our Treasurer, Mr John Waldron, 3 Church Close, Quarndon DE22 5JF (cheques should be made payable to Quarndon PCC), or on our online giving page (where you can make an anonymous donation should you so wish).
As part of our fundraising efforts, we are planning number of fundraising events over the next 2 years and we look forward to your support.
