Families and children are important and valued at St. Paul's.
We also value the links we have with the Curzon C. of E. school next door to our church building. The school holds special services in church, and staff and families join us for events such as Mothering Sunday.
For Families
All Age Services are held once per month, usually on the second Sunday. The format is quite informal with content to suit all ages and usually includes worship led by a music group, puppets and audio visual presentation.
SHINE is a Sunday School run once a month on the third Sunday in our lower church hall. You can find details here.
For Children
Open the Book is a school assembly run by church members each week during term time in which the children hear a bible story, see it acted out, and also often participate. This is part of the national Open The Book Scheme.
HOW (Handful Of Worship) Assemblies: there is an active puppetry team run jointly between St. Paul's and St. Nicholas' churches which presents an assembly once each term at most of the schools in the Quarndon and Allestree area as well as elsewhere in the county. More can be found about about this at the Handful Of Worship puppetry team website.
Holiday clubs: St Paul's and St. Nicholas' churches get together during school holidays to put on a morning holiday club, lasting one day at Christmas and Easter and four days at the end of the summer. These are free for children to attend and comprise teaching, worship, crafts, games and refreshments. More detail can be found on the Holiday Club page.
